Wow… where do I even begin? First of all, I’ve never heard of this author before, so I read through the other reviews, curious as to the caliber of the story’s merit. They’re spot on. I’ve been reading sci-fi books for years and I haven’t come across anything like this before. The author meshes all the elements of a great story in such a way that combines the best of what other writers do in their works, to deliver a unique writing that is riveting, powerful and gripping – literally from start to finish.
This is the kind of book I wasn’t able to put down. There’s action, suspense, intrigue, yet has the qualities of a thriller-page-turner, in addition to a compelling plot that was exceptionally well executed. And that’s not even the best part. The best part of this book is the lead character, the heroine you will come to know and love – Nixie.
This is the type of lead character that aspires writing. Nixie was portrayed as capable, strong and resilient with independent wants, needs and goals. Her rise through the shadows of a bitter past into the spotlight of becoming a hero is absolutely groundbreaking and she is exactly the type of protagonist I enjoy reading about because at no point did I ever feel she was too much, too little – she was always spot on, well rounded and balanced. She laughs, she cries, she rages, she inspires. There are very few characters I hold in high regard. Nixie is now one of them.
I’m honestly impressed and this author has already automatically become one of my favorites.
